The Colonial Drive-In opened in 1955 with a capacity for 700 cars. Opening day movie was “Pete Kelly’s Blues” starring Jack Webb. The Colonial Drive-In closed around 1967 and has been demolished. This drive-in has been replaced by a shopping center.

An article about the Colonial Drive-In appeared in the February 4, 1956, issue of Boxoffice Magazine. The architect was Jack K. Vogel. It was the first drive-in in Annapolis, and was built for Durkee Enterprises.

Great shot of these two theatres,wonder if 1 manager ran both places since they were right next to each other.
Now Forest Plaza Shopping Center. Home Depot is where the screen stood. Outback Steakhouse is where the indoor theatre stood.
