The Lake Worth Drive-In opened in 1968. This twin screen drive-in has a capacity for 460 cars. It was closed in mid-july 2022.

Interesting Palm Beach Post article from late July 2018 about the history of drive-ins in Palm Beach County:
“Drive-in Movie Memories: 71 Years of Double Features and Even Death — Only One Drive-in Remains in Palm Beach County: The Lake Worth Drive-In”
Says the first drive-in in the county was in an empty lot to the west of what is now Palm Beach International Airport and was called the Boulevard after going quasi-nameless for years.
Also that “The Dixie Skydrome, dubbed ‘The South’s Most Beautiful Drive-In Theater,’ [that] opened on North Dixie Highway in Lake Worth in January 1949” and closed in 1978.
I’ve been unable to locate pages on Cinema Treasures for the Dixie Skydrome as well as the Boulevard and the Boynton Outdoor Drive-In Theatre (which the article says appeared only once in the newspaper).

This swap shop stopped showing movies per search for showtimes.
This is discouraging. Now the closest Drive in in the area is in Fort Lauderdale. No reason given why they closed suddenly. Don’t know if it was a problem with low attendance or Other technical things like maybe they need to replace something that was too costly based on how many people were coming. Hopefully it could be reopened again

As of a few weeks ago the Thunderbird in Ft Lauderdale was also closed. It said for renovations.
The Trail Drive-In opened March 14, 1968 with “Fitzwilly and “Rough Night in Jericho.” It was renamed as the Lake Worth Drive-In Theatre. Eldon Bogess of D&D Steel in Fort Worth, Texas supervised the raising of the, 45x90, $21,000, 12-ton screen at the $300,000 500-car capacity LW-DI on February 5, 1968 for operators Clyde N. Hall and Frank C. Clements.
It was renamed as the Lake Worth Drive-In Theatre. It closed for films with “Resident Evil” and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” on December 5, 2021. It carried on as a swap shop
Renamed the Lake Worth Drive-In in mid-July 2002.
Online searches just say mid 2002 was the name change and integration of the flea market/swap shop.
Please provide where it’s shown that was mid-July of 2002.
