From 2010 a photo of the Palace Theatre in Fredericksburg.
From the 1950s a photo postcard that captured a view of the Palace Theatre in Fredericksburg.
The facade of this theatre posted in 2007 by member Don Lewis is very interesting and shows the detail of the marquee and tile work. Yet below the marquee it isn’t a theatre anymore which is a shame.
I found this theatre while reading about another Palace Theatre in Georgetown Texas. Interesting question posed by Chuck and I hope we get an answer.
A 1994 photo of the Palace in Fredericksburg.
My 1986 photo of the PALACE sign and some unique and colorful tile work and artistic detail. They surely do not make them like this anymore!

I worked as projectionist and manager for the Palace Theatre for 3 ½ years while in high school up until its last closing night. It was an amazing time for the place, running first run movies, doing a national premier for the movie “Hope Floats”. It frequently had many actors and celebrities who would come to see a movie. Most notably, Madeline Stowe and Sandra Bullock. Its a big casualty that the theatre was victim to Parts Unknown. We mounted a good but uneffective protest. I will always rememeber this place as will quite a few other people.
The Palace Theatre was a gem to this town. It’s a shame that it was lost in order to open an overpriced “western wear” store. One more casualty of character on Main St. Fredericksburg in the name of the dollar.
The Palace Theatre was on Main Street and it seated 600 people.
THIS THEATRE WAS CLOSED IN 2000 MADE INTO WESTERN WEAR STORE.
