The Davis Drive-In located on Route 78 opened on May 27, 1952 with Lucille Ball in “Magic Carpet”. It had an original capacity for 250 cars. On April 2, 1976 it was renamed New Lynn Drive-In. By 1992 it had been renamed Stanford Drive-In. The screen was replaced in 1996 after it was destroyed by a tornado.

Address is incorrect. Drive-In is located on the south side of Hustonville Rd(Hwy 78), west of the town. The address on their web site is 1645 Hustonville Rd which maps on google west of the actual location.
Google is a wee bit off but it does map it with the address in the header.

The Davis Drive-In (as it was known then) was listed in the 1952 Theatre Catalog as owned by H. C. Davis and a capacity of 200 cars.
The 1959 through 1976 IMPAs list the Davis at 250 cars. The 1982 IMPA lists the Stanford at 300 cars. I don’t have any other references to the New-Lynn; great find rivest266!
The New-Lynn Name I Believe Lasted For A Short Time.
