Opened January 12, 2001. The AMC Theatres are right in the middle of Downtown Disney. The theatre auditoriums are designed with great care in a modern day retro look reminiscent of the golden age of theatres. The entry way is full of bright neon and meticulous ironwork. The front lobby is sort of rounded, and where the ticket area is located. In addition to live ticket takers, they also have automated ticket purchasing windows, where you can use a credit card if you so choose.
From the ticketing area, you then pass through glass doors into the concession area. The theatres are nicely designed and have loveseat-style stadium seating, THX Surround Sound and many other state-of-the-art amenities. It was closed June 17, 2018 and was demolished in March 2021 to build and expand retail/dining options in Downtown Disney.

AMC will be reopening the former Movie Experience/Ultra Star Garden Walk theatre (the side which wasn’t converted in to the House of Blues). So, the area will have a movie theatre after Downtown Disney closes.

Yesterday was the final day of operation.
No word about the future of this movie theater, but the hotel has been cancelled.
It’s still standing, but more or less just part of the scenery now as vendor kiosks dot the front entrance area.

The demolition took place March of 2021, and it was not for a hotel- it was to expand retail/dining options in Downtown Disney.
