Manhattan’s first all-stadium seating megaplex opened its doors for business on November 13, 1998 with 3,500-seats in 14 screens. United Artists were the initial operator. In the mid-2000’s it was taken over by Regal. Bookings consist mostly of standard major-studio Hollywood product and, usually at any given time, one or two indie-type and/or foreign flicks.
One of the most successful movie theatres in the city and a consistent source of sell-outs on Friday and Saturday nights. It was expanded to 17 screens in late-2019.

advance tickets on sale doesn’t mean it will close. Regal will refund the tickets if they close
Does anybody know when this theater is supposed to close? I noticed they’re already selling tickets to Fast X which doesn’t open until May. I know any tickets can be refunded if/when the theater does close, but why even bother programming the showtimes and selling tickets if they know they’re not even going to be around anymore by the time the movie opens?
There’s a very good likelihood that the theater will not close.
Based upon what exactly?
Since when is a multi-plex a treasure? As once was famously said in another context it should be a buried treasure.
Why can’t a multiplex be a treasure? You don’t think that countless numbers of people think fondly of this theater and all the different experiences they’ve had there? If the theater closed where you saw your favorite movies, perhaps had your first date, spent time with your family, etc. – does the fact that it’s a multiplex make it any less memorable?
However, this particular multiplex has all the charm of a bus station.
