This cinema opened with seven screens on October 7, 1994 with three more screens added in 1995.
It was expanded to 16 screens and renamed Mega-Plex Lacordaire on February 28, 2003. Mostly English-language movies are shown. It was closed on February 5, 2025 due to Cinemas Guzzo declaring insolvency. It was announced in April 2025 that the building was set to be demolished. However, it was reopened on May 1, 2026 as CineStarz Deluxe Lacordaire.

In the King’s English. “Vincenzo Guzzo not only wants to reopen other cinemas, but he intends to rebuild three new ones, including those of Lacordaire, in Montreal, and Pont-Viau, in Laval.
In its new project, the old cinemas will be demolished to make way for a real estate project with commercial and residential rental premises."
