Mid-sized, second run theater located just north of downtown. This theater was located just north of 3rd Avenue on N. Saginaw Street, across from the old Sears store. The Regent Theater was built in 1919 for the Butterfield Theaters circuit, opening on March 10, 1920 with Wallace Reid in “Double Speed” & Larry Semon in “The Grocery Clerk”. It was equipped with a Hillgreen-Lane 3 manual, 27 ranks theatre pipe organ. It was still open in 1956 but had closed by 1957.

According to the American Film Review for 1936, the Regent had 1,600 seats
CHAIN – BUTTERFIELD THEATERS
This theater opened in 1919.
In 1920 a $5,000 Hillgreen-Lane Opus 571, 3 Manual/27 Rank Pipe Organ was installed.
It is not know what happened to the organ, if you know anything about the organ, please let us know.
The August 9, 1919, issue of The American Contractor said that John Eberson had drawn the plans for the Regent Theatre, to be built at Flint for the Butterfield circuit.
