… Was actually that the property it was built on was owned by the Oklahoma City Airport Trust, and was leased to Charlie Shadid/George Grube for many years. As this article illustrates, the legal battles were lengthy, and the city eventually won.
The Drive-in site remains unoccupied to this day at just West of where I-240 makes its turn from the North South route to the East around 59th and Portland.
A Fed-Ex delivery center was built just north of SW 59th, but is not where the drive-in was located.
