The opening program for the Cameo was Charles Dickens' David Copperfield - it took place commencing Nov 22, 1935.

The 1935 MGM adaptation of Charles Dickens' David Copperfield is widely praised as one of the finest literary films of its era, directed by George Cukor and starring Freddie Bartholomew as young David with W.C. Fields as the unforgettable Mr. Micawber. Fans call it a lavish, faithful version with an all-star cast including Basil Rathbone, Edna May Oliver, and Lionel Barrymore, and it was even nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Picture.
