The above Plaza photograph was taken 14th September 1967 four months before the cinema closed. A neon Plaza sign remains in situ, below there once featured a multi-coloured neon Art Deco fountain design now removed, except for its outer edges that still appear at the bases of the current film display boards. Either side of the Plaza entrance the two shops are still open. Note; closed shop on the right of the Plaza cafe has an interesting sign below the name Evans, ‘Groceteria’ a name I have never heard before referring to my dictionary!!!!!
