Photograph taken 1935 prior to opening showing stage and proscenium with green fluted columns on either side of opening supporting a matching fibrous plaster pelmet which is stepped to the ceiling, in a design of terracotta and green with enhanced gold linings. Right and left splay walls have a series of gold grilles covering the ventilation shafts and lighting, which could be changed to various colours, the mirrorflex sets of satin curtains enclosing the screen or outer main curtain could then be enhanced by the concealed spot lights.
