The Village 4 was opened on 16th December 1975 in the Westfield Shopping Centre. It had 1,463 seats. Later renamed Village 8 (1,726 seats) in 1996 after a redevelopment and expansion of the shopping centre.

Closed in 2005 when a new cinema complex opened elsewhere in another expansion of the shopping centre (opened as a Greater Union as Village had moved out of N.S.W. GU is now Event Cinemas). Village Cinemas was demolished in the remodel of the centre.
