Poitier had two first-run films showing in 1952. In July, Poitier had a supporting role in “The Red Ball Express” at Loew’s Ohio. Later, in November, Poitier supported Canada Lee in the art film, “Cry, the Beloved Country” which played at the World, near The Ohio State University. Poitier did not have any movie roles in 1953, but he appeared in a couple of television plays.
