Davis Theatre Croydon
The Davis Theatre was used for stage productions around a third of the year, the programme above was for the Ivor Novello musical “Perchance to Dream” which opened on April 26th 1948 and ran for two weeks to capacity audiences. Novello appeared in the lead supported by Olive Gilbert and his new discovery soprano Vanessa Lee. Because of its success further Novello musicals were to follow.
