This 1930s frontage was stripped of much of its ornament and modernized in a pleasingly simple treatment, while remaining recognizably the same familiar theatre. A particular pleasure for patrons was the ability to walk out onto the balcony over the footpath and look directly at the passengers on the upper decks of passing trolley buses while enjoying an icecream or a drink.
