Columbus, Ohio-born actor, Warner Baxter played the title role of the “Crime Doctor.” Baxter was the first American actor to win Best Actor Oscar (for the role of The Cisco Kid in “In Old Arizona.” “Crime Doctor” was the bottom half of a double feature show that had its Columbus area first-run engagement at Loews’s Ohio, beginning in June of 1943.
