This is an original design by Eugene Mollo for the Embassy auditorium, however, the stage curtains were altered to plain red velvet for the house tabs a second pair were used for the screen these were gold so as to absorb the various coloured lighting effects. Eventually both sets of curtains were removed and replaced by a festoon curtain which lowered from the top of the proscenium, this was to accommodate Cinemascope which required the full width of the proscenium for the screen installation.
