Majestic Theatre 3rd St & A Ave NE
Sept. 26, 1908: The Majestic Theatre, designed by famed architects Rapp and Rapp, opened in Cedar Rapids as a “high-class vaudeville house.” Located at Third St and A Avenue NE, the theater offered audiences and performers alike the latest in modern conveniences, including 14 furnished dressing rooms, audience retiring rooms on all three floors and a separate entrance to the upper balcony where “cheap seats” were available for the working classes. Ticket prices ranged from 10 cents for the upper balcony to a dollar for the dress circle.
