Rather dark newspaper photograph from the stage at the time of opening 4th June 1927. Staggered upholstered seating was uniform from the Front Stalls to the Dress Circle, and was designed to provide an uninterrupted view from all 1600 seats. Walls feature extensive open lattice sections to cope with the tropical climate.
