This was added during the Depression when a retail store became available and was turned into a low-ceilinged lobby that connected to the auditorium…Photo taken in 1947.

I was employed at RKO58st from 1961- Nov.1963 For a very short time the company transferred me at RKO Kenmore in Brooklyn and RKO Palace theatre on Broadway & 47th St. But RKO 58 St was my
theatre. Some of the celebrities which attended were Marilyn Monroe, Ives Montand, Jane Mansfield, Three Stooges, and Jerry Lewis which he gave me his autograph. November 1963 I moved to Hollywood where I started managing theatres, for National General Theatres. BUT EVERYTHING STARTED FROM 58 St & 3rd Ave.
