One of the gargoyles adorning the towers which flank the central stupa of the facade. Originally these figures were lit from behind, and the light shone through their eyes and flooded the shells behind them. I found that lightbulb sockets were still in place behind the figures.

My wife and I went to a Dickens Christmas Faire, sometime back in the 1980’s. Most of the furnishings in that cavernous auditorium had been stripped, especially the balcony. I also recall the accoustics were impressive, as was the decore… so typical of Fox quality.
