Who knows……but Classic closed Foxfield, SUPPOSEDLY closed Arcada, but was bought by some other company (see Arcada Listing) and has been reopened, shut down, renovated and yada yada over the years. Foxfield remains closed. I don’t think Regal knew how to run it right or something, or felt it did enough business. But once Classic bought it and closed Foxfield business has boomed! They have stolen a lot of business from Randall 16 because it was a much more modern theater……BUT Randall is in the proces of renovations and adding an IMAX, I just added Randall myself and it should show up soon on this website………Classic is up for some competition now cuz Randall is really nice now!

In response to Paul Fortinis comment about CC renovating and then closing…….I don’t think they cared……the Foxfield was bringing CRAP next to what the newer Charlestowne 18 brings in…..even though the new one at the mall is all bells and whistles and is really not a jewel or anything, its an AWESOME theater for the area, before it’s existence we had to go all the way to Schaumburg or Warrenville to get a really good movie experience. But ya, I really don’t think CC cared that they would lose money perse……..they got a brand new theater which they didn’t have to touch with renovations…….and made a HELL of a lot more money on it!

If you want to see a jewel of a theater, make your way a little farther (about 2 miles) west on Rt. 64, to the Arcada Theater. It’s beautiful inside!

I used to work here………and I live in St. Charles……it has stood vacant for many years now I’m surprised they haven’t demolished it or something. I worked here right after they remodeled it, it was pretty nice inside……..it doesn’t pale in comparison to the new theater……and it isn’t what I would say a jewel either……it kinda reminds me of the 80’s so it’s really nothing too special. I remember when I was a junior in high school (right before it was closed…..and right after) they used a good portion of the parking lot as overflow parking for St. Charles East High school (back then it was JUST St. Charles High School) I hope they just demolish it or convert it into something else….it’s wasting space…..

I used to work at this theater……it was a classic old place. It’s a shame it closed. I worked there when I was 15 (i’m now 22) and I can distinctly remember that the seating arrangement consisted of every other row was a table with a little lamp built in…..you could order food in the lobby, take a number placard back to your seat and the attendant would bring you your food (not your conventional candy and popcorn either……but chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, pizza, etc….) I thought that was such a cool idea…..except for the fact that I was one of those people that had to deliver the food……..The reason I think this whole place failed is that they showed movies that had come out a couple months prior, and only charged $1.00 per person. It was a good deal, but obviously it didn’t make a profit. It really is sad that it closed.

I love love LOVE this theater!!!!! The place is truly old school retro and the whole ambiance and experience plays into it! I’m only 22 so I don’t know what it was truly like to go to the ACTUAL drive in like they used to, but I can get a feel for it when I go here! Make sure to come in a truck or convertible if you’re gunna stay in your car cuz tryin to see the screen from the backseat of a regular car sucks. And if you do come in a regular, bring camping style chairs to setup outside er something (and blankets since it does get chilly as the night sets in). The concession stand has an awesome variety of old school drive in foods…….BTW, all BIGGER cars have to park in the rear rows so as not to obstruct the view, keep that in mind!!! AND YOU CAN BRING PETS!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE THEY NEVER CLOSE THIS PLACE, IT NEEDS TO LIVE ON!!!!!!! THEY JUST CLOSED THE ONE IN AURORA SO HELP KEEP THIS ONE ALIVE, GO SEE A DRIVE IN MOVIE!!!!!!
