I have such fond memories of this theater growing up. We would go there on weekends to see the Disney movies, such as Herbie the Lovebug, World’s Greatest Athlete, etc. I believe the Saturday matinees from what I recall were $1 or $2. What a great time. The theater as I recall had beautiful red carpeting in the lobby, and I also seem to recall that the entry doors were heavy solid glass. What a shame it did not even survive 40 years. It was a great neighborhood theater. Those were truly very special times.

Yep, we spent many Saturday afternoons there. Back then you had to see Disney classics whenever they came out on a recurring basis. And of course all those Disney movies. The Nutty Professor, Son of Flubber, The World’s Greatest Athlete (one of my favorites). Good memories.
