This photo shows the cinema sponsored float in the annual Westhoughton Carnival. The coal lorry of Newton Ramsdale & Co. is being used as a mobile hoarding advertising the coming main feature; ‘The Browning Version’ starring Michael Redgrave and Jean Kent. A load of small children sit behind the placard to add legitimacy to the advertising.
