As aprojectionist who worked there many years ago when it was asingle screen, in answer to the question re the organ it was designed for one but never installed.

I worked at the Savoy as aprojectionist.it had Westar Projectors on Western Electric universal base aand Peerless “Magnarcs” western electric “Mirrophnic” sound Later converted to Westrex Sound. The manager was J Edge.

I waorked at the Twins in the670’s There were 2 projection rooms back to back the projctors were Kalee model 11 with GK “President Arcs” and Westex sound. Acommon fault was that the psssenger lift from the Foyez used to get jammed and one of us used to have to get down in the mechanism and free it up usually when the Cinema was very busy!

As a projectionist many years ago I worked on BT-H equipments and found no problem using them my favourites was the pre-SUPA, RPR(Rack and Panel Reproducer) easy to thread and very quiet running

I worked at the Roxy an Majestic as a projectionist for some years with Fred Schofiled and Cedric Shaw was Manager. The equipment at the Roxy was Kalee Model 12 Projectors mounted on Western Electric Universal base sound heads and B T-H arcs The sound was Wetern Electric Mirrophonic system later updated to Westex system. The Majestic equipment was all by B T-H.

The Ritz wa sei derilict when I went to Retfod Grammar school during the war and remained sofor a long time after Iworked as a projectionist at the Roxy and Majestic or aew years ad there was talk of demolising th Ritz then. Gad to see kit has survived though. Sorry toseethe Roxy has gone ray Batten

I worked as a Proectioist at the Empress whilst it was under ABC control. The projection Room (Box)was down stairs and had an entrance at street level from Higher Road. The equipment was Kalee(Rear Shutter)Model 8 projectors wit Ross Arc Lamps mounted on Western Electric “universal base” with sound heads the sound was Western Electric “Wide Range” system. The Tabs Curtains) were manual operated from back stage.
