Hey, I knew Howard Silberer! He played piano at Suzuki concerts in Macomb in the 1980s when I was a Suzuki kid. He was an old guy by then. I remember him having the kindest smile in the room. I grew up in Bushnell, and spent my whole childhood wondering what was inside that theater, but I didn’t know the connection with Mr. Silberer.
At one point the guy who owned the Irish bar next to it expanded into the theater space to make a restaurant and venue, but I never got inside it, and it closed again while I was at college and had lost my connection with Bushnell. That at least suggests that the inside of the building probably no longer strongly resembles a theater, but at least as of ~2001 was not in a dilapidated state.
