The BFI will take over operations/programming of the IMAX from Odeon on July 19th 2022, ahead of a full relaunch in the autumn - no word on whether the laser projectors will go in at this stage though.
Cinema has been bought by Odeon - currently being refurbished to become an Odeon Luxe complex to open in summer 2022. Per the licensing documents sent to Ealing Council, new screen capacities are 154 in the biggest screen, 140 in the premium iSense screen, and varying seat counts down to 50 in the smallest.
Refurbishment started in March 2022, IMAX seating to be replaced with current Vue ‘standard’ seats, and all other screens to be re-stepped with recliner seating installed. All public facing and back of house areas will be brought in line with Vue house style, much like the company’s cinema in Salford (Lowry Quayside).
£6million refurbishment of this cinema to begin at some point in 2022 (as part of a wider renovation of the Printworks in general), with a new 20 year lease agreed.
Refurbished during COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020, overall capacity now 750 fully reclining seats, with smallest screen holding 72 guests and the biggest holding 139.
Don’t think they’ve actually changed the dimensions of the screens, these current batch of Vue recliner conversions just seem to focus on the seats and general works to the foyer area. Scope’s the least of their priorities apparently, even though my local (Preston) had screen 7 converted to the format in 2017.

Picturehouse no longer operate this cinema, as the museum tendered the contract to a company called INDY Cinema Group in September 2019. As of November 1st of that year, the cinema is once again fully independent, and operating under the name Pictureville.
Refurbishment completed on Friday 13th December 2019, the cinema now features 898 reclining seats, with capacities varying from 139 in the biggest screens, to 39 in the smallest. Dolby 7.1 installed throughout the cinema, which is now operating Vue’s latest specification for the retail offering.
