When this theatre opened in 1941 famed movie theatre black light art painter Anthony Heinsbergen a Dutch muralist did all the side wall glow art at the Orinda Theater. After many years with all the nicotine and smoke/grime damage has almost ruined these glow black light florescent paintings. They will need a expensive cleaning some day but this can be very expensive. New LED black lights have been put in on the top of the art and some of the paintings still glow a little during the movie in the dark. Lets hope a fund can be set up to clean these black light art wall paintings so they pop out again just like 1941!
