Summer Season Show 1979.
Tommy Steele’s ‘street painting’ is included here and this was on the safety curtain which was used instead of the lovely gold house tabs before the performance.
Personally, I wished at the time that the curtains were used instead. This must have heralded the use of ‘show cloths’
Why, oh why, don’t productions allow theatres to simply use the house tabs? If people do not know by that time what show they are about to see, then they never will!
