A vertical mall has replaced the St Francis. The finished building sat empty for years but Ingka Centres has taken over with the main retail tenant Ikea occupying appx 70K sq ft of the space and in the process of modifications to the inside before opening sometime this year. The Centre is called Livat (“lively gathering” in Swedish) and will feature smaller stores and pop ups surrounding the Ikea store. Photo by Andrew Chamings/SFGate.
