Just wanted to mention a couple of things about this posting. First the Google maps picture has the wrong address of where this theater was. Second I added a comment to the one photo here that gives the correct address of where this cinema was. If you got off the highway coming from the north at Winter Street, there is a small plaza on the right as you come off the off-ramp. My wife told me there used to be a 2 screen cinema there. I saw an old placemat she has from the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham, that had an ad for the cinema on it. Its' address was 475 Winter Street, Waltham, MA. That’s where the new plaza is. Just wanted to help update your info.
The address listed in the description above is wrong. My Wife is a life-long Waltham resident, and I’ve lived here and driven all over Waltham since 2004. That plaza’s address is 475 Winter Street, Waltham, MA. It’s at the intersection of Route 128 and Winter Street in Waltham.
My Wife has been going to Hampton Beach all of her life, and she said the movie theater was upstairs next to where the mini-golf is. Her & her Mom were walking by the stairs in 1975, and there was a poster for Jaws there, and she begged her Mother to take her to see it, but her Mother said no. She loves sharks and always roots for them in movies. We made up for it 40 years later in 2015 when I took her to see Jaws on the big screen presented by Fathom Events.
