I don’t know how I got thinking about this place, but I grew up in Rapid City and saw a number of movies at this one, while it was called the Northgate. A pretty crummy theater, I remember my Dad claiming it was originally built as one of the Jerry Lewis theaters.
Besides it’s mediocre quality, the other thing I remember about this place was that on one side of the lobby, there was this huge picture mural of a USA map populated by old movie star pictures (IIRC). I always thought this was pretty cool. I think this was put up by Commonwealth, who operated the place at the time. Wish I had a picture of that mural…
