no, nothing except for an all too level looking empty space next to the assisted living center. I do remember the screen still being there in the late 80’s, early 90’s.
I remember the bowling alley. I don’t have pictures.. but my memories (and this closed when I was 5 or 6!) was purple painted walls with orange carpet on them from the floor to about your waist… the classic lights on the ceilings. I thought it was called Roller King.. but it may have been one of those places that my mother called by another name.
Cinema World was where the parking lot of Toys R us is now (Children’s Palace was also in the same area, now KidZone and Mattress Discounters). I remember seeing Song of the South there! I had to be REALLY small. I also remember my brother and my cousin sneaking in to stand at the back of one of the Friday the 13th movies and covering my eyes with me crying. Jeeze!
I swear, I have vague memories of being around there for something and seeing the big screen from a street and asking my mum what was up with that… but that was a long time ago. I’m curious. I’m going to have to check it out.
ah, I believe THIS is the one that was where Bowser Pontiac is now. Yeah, I did see one of the Superman movies and Jungle book here before it closed when I was 7.
Was the Echo located where Bowser Pontiac is now? I barley remember, but I believe I saw one of the Superman movies there, and the Jungle Book. It was so exciting!!!
I worked there all through high school in the mid 1990’s. It was such a blast. seriously the most fun I’ve had at a job. We all signed our names under the door frame in the kitchen.. is it still there? I remember the 1st movie I ever saw there just when it opened was “Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.” The steel City Carnival was running that summer in the Century Square parking lot. Wow… such a long time ago.
I wish I did.. I only have the South Hills one in my head. I looked on pittsburgh signs website.. not there.

aw that’s so awesome!!! I’m going to have to sneak a peek next time.
I love this theater. It’s not as in your face as Lowes, and something about it (I think it’s the huge staircase) reminds me of older theaters.
I drove by where I remember the Echo being today… there’s an assisted living center there now?

Yes, I think you could see (fora while, at least when I was in around maybe in middle school) the back of the Echo from the housing plans up there.
