This photograph taken during 1904 shows the Shakespeare Theatre rich ornate auditorium with sprays of decorative electric lighting illuminating the gold and red design. The very deep stage is shown behind the orchestra pit, is that an electric organ on the right side? Either side of proscenium arch are the carbuncles, illuminated ‘Act’ notice indicators completely incongruous to the original architects design, however, the electric clock outsmarts these by being stuck halfway up the right side arch reminding patrons your train leaves soon…………………
