Ritz Cinema Huddersfield
Publication of an advert for William John Wilson & Son, Mansfield Nottingham, their display photograph shows the semi nude Goddess holding Tragedy and Comedy in each hand, surmounted at the very top of their decorative grill panels either side of the proscenium that cover ventilation shafts. Decorative fibrous plaster work for cinema interiors flourished during the 1930’s and Architect Cromie used firms he came to rely on, Clark & Fenn London, Mollo & Egan London, and as here Wilson & Son of Nottingham.
