Granada Theatre Tooting
The Granada Theatre Tooting Wurlitzer organ was purchased by Sidney Bernstein from a cinema in Sacramento, California and shipped to England where it was re-built and enlarged, having four ranks. Installed it was played together on stage with a Phantom Grand Piano. This Wurlitzer was always considered the best quality organ ever installed in the UK. Alexander Taylor organist from the Davis Theatre Croydon was engaged as the first resident organist playing at the Grand Opening on Monday 7th September 1931.
