The ridged ceiling slopes down to meet the top of proscenium concealed lighting illuminates this area supported by the silver fibrous plaster splay walls, which are back lit from the five black horizontal banding battens these splay walls are designed to harmonise with the fitted carpet. The splay walls design are identical to those of the Majestic cinema Rochester, which Eugene Mollo designed earlier and opened on 15th April 1935.
