This page from the Gaumont opening programme details the seven Technicians who worked on the construction of the Gaumont. Harry Weston engaged a team in 1933 which built a cinema once a year, this Gaumont being the fifth and although there were two to follow, Carshalton was the peak. Eugene Mollo was to fall out with Weston who agreed to extra works then would not pay. Mollo in the Autumn of 1937 sued Weston in the High Court for their unpaid works producing evidence of the agreed extra works required and the sums involved, winning the case. Weston was declared Bankrupt, the two other cinemas under construction, Gaumonts Chichester September 1937 and Dorking February 1938 were completed with cutbacks, however, they were poor shadows of the previous five. Ten years later in October 1948 Weston was engaged to carry out some small internal works to the Embassy Ilfracombe.
