The Roxy exterior was rendered having relief bands of deep buff faience supplied by Shaws of Darwin. A canopy ran the full length of the elevation of both streets. Above the main entrance was a large fin to the height of the roof bearing the letters Roxy. Below the canopy at street level were facings of black faience relieved with pale green banding. The entrance, foyer walls and pay box were finished in Australian walnut, this being near identical to the panelling the Architects Drury & Gomersall had used in their decorations of their previous cinema the Regal Accrington. Interior decorations were carried out by G.F. Holding of Manchester. Auditorium side walls featured a series of tall arched recesses in each a large decorative Venetian style lantern was suspended from the apex. Coved ceiling lighting provided the main illumination within the auditorium.
