I remember seeing films there like Dumb & Dumber,
Stargate, Bean The Movie, Alien Resurrection
and I’m countless other movies as a kid in
the 90s. Those were some good times going
to the movies with places like this, Union City
Drive-In theater 6, Southland Cinemas,
Hayward United Artists 6, the Cinedomes
7 Newark and East in Fremont, the Fremont
General Cinemas and the Super Saver Cinema 7
(basically I went to all of em as a kid) had
some great times going to these movie theaters.
I believe the Union City Drive-In theater closed on March 31st 1998 after they showed re-releases of classic 1950s and 60s movies which was the titled “The Last Picture Show” on a Tuesday and quickly the drive-in was demolished the next day on April 1st on a Wednesday. Despite what that person wrote saying that the drive-in closed his funfare in 2000 which was not 2000, it was 1998 as I know this since I’m from the Bay Area. The Century 25 Theater was already open and showing movies by 2000 as it officially opened in around May 1999 when the very first movie I saw there was Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace as it was probably everyone else’s first movie if I’m not mistaken it was grand opening first movie in 1999 during it’s official theatrical release.
So the drive-in lasted for 32 years in Union City from 1966-1998. I really miss it today.

theater back in 96 during it’s theatrical run.
Starship Troopers in 1997 with my dad and my cousins.
It’s funny how my dad took us to see this flick
due to the violence and some sexuality which is
tame today. The Relic in 96 also and Deep Impact in 1998.
Awesome time in at this movie theater as a kid. I think I might of saw SideKicks with Chuck Norris and the late Jonathan Bandis back in 93 in this same theater.
