Site of the Empire under construction in late 1928/29. Military Airship R100 floating overhead - the Empire was built on the site of the Royal Engineers (military regiment) yard.The Empire was built using the relatively new steel frame construction technique, there is no visible sign of the steel frame either externally or internally.
