I live in a Brookyn neighborhood (Greenpoint, to be exact)that has alot of young people that are artists/film makers, etc- alot of them are my friends. I would love to open something they can play thier stuff in, and get other kinds of venues going there. We would love to have a theatre here to go to! Alot of people wonder why we don’t have somethiung like that already! It’s prime!
I guess my first step is to find some real estate. It would be fun to find something like an old church or abandoned warehouse and do it up DIY style! I think real estate will be super expensive but I’ll look into it.

Does anyone know of a resource for information on legal and license requirments necessary to open and operation a theatre?
Are there some sort of guidelines?
