I worked here as a manager for a little while after the renovation. Beautiful location and one of the best movie going experiances out there. Now with the addition of digital projection and first run theatres, this would be my first choice to see movies if I was still in CA. Cool thing about this theatre is its one of two theatres with balcony seating in Ornage County. I hope this theatre becomes a landmark and never goes away.

This is the theatre I got my start at as a usher. Got me into a career I stuck with for 18 years. Great memories, like opening weekend of ID4.
Auditoriums 7 and 8 were THX sertified for a time. Always a great place on the weekends. The lease killed this place when Edwards built a theatre down the street. The lease said the theatre couldn’t open mid week becuase it shared a parking structer with the office building next store. Most memerable time for me was as a 17 year old kid getting threatened by a customer because his wife thought I was rude to her. It was my second day.

First theatre I was a manager at. Creepy theatre to open first thing in the morning.
I just remember how sub par the equipment was here. 2 mono houses, 1 dolby surrond ( not digital) and a kintech. Seemed like once a week the tech was out helping us with something. Best thing was the deals we had with some of the mall stores doing trade outs. Also for a while there was talk about making this a discount house only to be shot down because the mall felt it would attract the wrong quality of people. In the end Edwards Brea killed both this theatre and the marketplace across the street.

Oh my god! this theatre was my childhood. Remember seening so many movies here as a kid. Even attempted to sneak into and R rated movie only to get kicked out by the usher. I also remember the restrooms being downstairs under the auditoriums.

I was an assistant manager here for 3 years from 98 to 01. Before that I was also at the Brea Marketplace and Brea Mall Theatres. Upstair we still had the 35mm -70 mm projector for house #1. It also had Dolby Digital sound. #2 was SDDS while #6 was DTS. I left before the company merged with Regal. I loved working here and made some awesome friends.
The biggest frustration was the battle with AMC for product. I remember one forth of July we didn’t open a single movie, while they got Peferct Storm and Patriot. Despite that we got some strong product every now and then. Busiest I ever saw the theatre was Friday night of Austin Powers 2. Sold out houses 1 and 2 for every evening show. Had a great deal with the AMC GM too, we could see free movies there and they could come to ours as well. Lots of movie watching during this time. Ended up leaving to work for a few more theatre chains over the years. Still this play holds a specail place in my heart. Many thanks to Bill, Joan, and all the other managers with me for making my time with UA a joy. Fondest memory here was sitting outside on the cement benches with the team during the down time.
