I had no idea this was a cinema. I always knew it as being an art college…

I grew up in Sussex Street which was within walking distance of this place. It was a snooker hall when I was growing up.

I grew up in Plaistow and this used to be our cinema of choice (since it was the closest one to us). So many great memories. The last movie I saw there was Alien Resurrection, a year before it closed.

Movies I saw here (in no particular order):

Bambi, Return to Oz, A View to a Kill, The Aristocats, Jungle Book, The Rescuers, Crocodile Dundee II, Space Camp, Gremlins 2, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Jurassic Park, Super Mario Bros, Die Hard With a Vengeance, Judge Dredd, Batman Forever, Kindergarten Cop, Star Trek: Generations, The Nutty Professor, Willow, Mrs. Doubtfire, Look Who’s Talking, Independence Day, Alien Resurrection

I haven’t been here since I was a teenager but remember it having an awesome sound system. Seeing ‘Speed’ at this theatre is one of my most memorable movie-going experiences.

Movies I saw here:

Forrest Gump, Speed, Mission Impossible

Such a beautiful theatre. I only ever went here once to see ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ in December ‘94 with my mother (I was still at school). Good times.

I only saw one movie here and that was ‘Superman IV: The Quest for Peace’ when I was very young. I was supposed to meet a girl here for a date way back in ‘96 but she stood me up!!!

This cinema was in an ideal location too. Right next to Valentines Park.
