We visited Lowes this Sunday 1-6-08 had the worst experience with the MOST obnoxious, unprofessional manager… We went to see Sea Horse (the 1:40 showing in theatre 18), when the movie first started – the volume was fine – but as the movie progressed, the volume went low. I asked the manager at the courtesy desk if he would please check the volume, he proceeded to shrug me off by saying “I’ll look into it” & continued to chat with his buddies – after about 5 minutes, I said “I’m sorry but would you mind checking it soon†– he nastily said – "fine” (obviously upset that we interrupted his gathering with friends). As the “manager†& I entered the theatre he took this opportunity to be even ruder & said “IF I think its low, I’ll call it in, IF I DON"T then you’ll just have to deal with it"… As I stood there in shock & feeling intimidated by the blatant disrespect & disregard demonstrated by this so called manager… I asked him if this is how he usually treated his customers… With a smile on his face he said “YES, & if you don’t like it, GO ELSEWHERE!!!” I managed to mutter an “excuse me?” & he just said you “heard me”… I then said “okay, thank you†for his lack of courtesy & asked for him for his managers name, he said his boss wasn’t in until Monday & proceeded to tell me, “Don’t worry, I’ll give you the 1-800 to customer service, but they don’t care about your complain either” then he left the theatre… when the movie was over, & as I was passing the courtesy desk with my family â€" Mr. George added insult to injury & handed us a paper with HIS NAME (if he gave us his real name), & the 1-877 # & bid us a “have a NICE day”… This situation & treatment was uncalled for but seems to be a common practice by both staff & management in this establishment â€" at a cost of $8.50 to $10.50 per adult & $7.50 per child for tickets & high cost for refreshments, one would have hoped for better service. The incident was reported on the same day to 1-877-262-4450 and today it was reported to the BBB. The manager’s name was Ismael George. I encourage others to complain to BBB – maybe with enough complaints from regular visitors such as us – AMC will do something to improve the quality of service.
