The only thing lacking is Showcase doesn’t have newer seats , but the theater presentation is the best . Auditorium 12 is a true throwback to the 70mm days of Sprindale In the 80’s with a huge massive curved screen with no black bars at the top & bottom of the screen like Digital Cinema …Saw “Alien Covenant” last night in Auditorium 12 …A great experience – The way movies should be shown !
7 year update! The photo in this post is the IMAX auditorium. The only issue as you can see in this photo is the seats. They do not have reclining seats and not much room in-between seating. The film presentation is first rate. Great sound and picture, but it needs an upgrade for seating purposes. I recently have been comparing this to Cinemark XD theater. there almost the same with IMAX slightly bigger . Sound wise is a toss up. XD has upgraded its Auditorium a few years ago with THX which has made a big difference since opening 10 years ago. Despite the seating issue . it’s still worth going to Showcase Cinema to see a film in IMAX…They have updated the seats in all other Auditoriums. Auditorium 12 is my favorite, it’s probably the largest screen next to IMAX. A huge curved screen just like 70mm. I highly recommend seeing any film in that Auditorium.
