There is a lot of misinformation in this one blog. The Fox Theater was on Rout 347 (Nesconset Highway, in East Setauket. It has been torn down. It was located in the strip mall area in front of Waldbaums. The three Village Theater was a cool movie theater loaded on Route 25A in Setauket. Mr Bishop was the owner when I was a kid as well, and he did move on. The movie theatre closed and was also torn down and an auto store has “blossomed” in its place. The Brookhaven Theatre was another art deco movie house in Prt Jefferson Station. That is where a Blockbuster Movie theatre appeared after that was torn down…Come to think of it all the movie theaters of my youth have been torn down. I am a big movie geek, and I used to spend hours watching the matinees at all those theaters. I work in movies a bit now, and will be in the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises in July, 2012. So thanks to all those great theaters for inspiring me, and making me fall in love with film.
Fox also had a Blocklbuster that stood in the place where the Fox theatre stood…so Blockbuster truly did destroy the movie houses ; (
