Yes I think they should definitely do some more advertising. They advertise through Facebook. The person who does their advertising does a very good job and is passionate about the theater. But yes they need to do some more advertising. Unfortunately papers like the Bergen record are very expensive to run an ad. A small’s-ish size and in the Friday weekend section. The same size ad for example that Lowes jersey runs. Will cost about $180 just for that one ad for one day in the weekend section of the paper. The same cost for the Journal news in Rockland County. So there in lies the problem. If the theater wanted to advertise every week In the Journal news or the Bergen record. That would be close to $1000 a month. Question is would they get enough people coming from the ads to offset the cost of the advertising?

Hi Tor appeared to be from the resolution DCP. adventures of Robin Hood was not DCP a Blu-ray. I’m going to confirm if some of the, titles will be DCP in the next day or two
The two people accused of the wrongdoing are absolutely terrible people . They took that projector down to a drive-in in New York the Fair Oaks Drive In. Which they proceeded to run into the ground. Stealing tens of thousands of dollars, of equipment from the former operator of the drive-in, Who had been there since 1990. The original operators of the Drive in retured for the 2016 season, spending significant amounts of money to, bring the drivie in back to their many many happy customers. The Two individuals, Adam and Regina Also stiffed the landlord for the rent money, they owed him for the 2015 season at the fair Oaks drive-in movie theater.
Let’s hope that they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
It is a little ridiculous that the seniors possibly may complain about having to pay two bucks. You getting to sit in a beautiful historic grand movie palace. Do the seniors everything through the fact, the expense of paying the licensing Fees to the studios. The cost of running the movie the electricity, paying the staff. Would they give away, food if they had a restaurant for free? Would they cook a whole bunch of meals in their houses and give them away for free? I really doubt it
This coming Wednesday, September 21 in partnership with the Rivertown film Society. At 8 PM Captain fantastic will be screened at the Lafayette theater. It’s an exclusive Rockland area showing not playing anywhere else in Rockland. Yes it’s been out for a little while but it’s a great opportunity to see this motion picture In a historic movie palace
There is certainly a good selection of films this fall. 15 weeks of movies. September 24th. To December 24. Doors open at 11 AM movie begins at 11:30 AM. The Wurlitzer organ plays starting at 11 AM. Admission is only $2.00!! No word yet on whether it’ll be DCP’s a mix of DCP’s and Blu-ray.
Theatre has been closed now for over six months. There was supposed to be some other group trying to take it over and turning into a performing arts Center that still shows movies as well. Nothing happening now with that plan
The fall classic series will be announced at the end of the summer. The town of Ramapo is no longer involved. But the theater will have classic movies this fall.
While there will be no longer a partnership with the town of Ramapo, With the town of Ramapo sponsoring the classic series as they did in the past. There WILL be classic movies at the theater Saturday mornings . Just not the same schedule, as the town followed in the past. Updates coming soon
Pete and Nelson certainly did a fantastic job programming the Lafayette theater with 3-D film festivals and the classic movies Saturday mornings.
Always wonderful presentations in 35mm. Pete worked his ass off during the 3-D festival in 2004. Remember he had to have two projectors running basically exactly at the same time to have perfect 3-D.
Beautiful prints and a great selection of Saturday morning classic films and great movies during the many film festivals the three day film festivals.
I am so happy that I was able to take part in the festivals and the Saturday morning Movies from 2003 until their last season of classic films Spring 2013

I’ll be going to the Ramapo cultural arts Center, to see a Malaysian/Indian film today. I will check on the speakers and observe how the sound is during the movie. The last few times I was there the sound was perfectly fine crisp and clear. Christie digital projector in the booth so the movie looks very good on the screen. Yes it’s kind of plan inside absolutely nothing even close to the absolutely gorgeous Lafayette theater. I think the partnership between the theater and the town of Ramapo of course should’ve continued

The Lafayette theater is a true movie palace. Built in 1924. With a full balcony opera boxes beautiful neon marquee. 950 seats. The cultural arts Center was a single screen first run theater up until the mid-70s. It does have a good sized screen. The sound system is good with the Bose speakers all around. The Ramapo cultural arts Center is located in downtown Spring Valley. It is about 15 to 20 minutes away from Suffern. One can take Route 59 from downtown area of Suffern past the Walmart through the downtown area of Munc past the Walmart through the downtown area of Monsey past the shopping center and the sign for that now closed Rockland Drive In. Also pass The Spring Valley high school. When you pass the Finkelstein Library on the left. One gets to an intersection where you can make a left and go down Route 45 into downtown Spring Valley where the cultural arts Center is located
Phil Tishi posted up on Facebook that he was very happy to do the film series for 14 years. Everyone should still continue to support the Lafayette theater. He intends on moving the classic series to another venue in the fall. The town owns the ramapo cultural arts Center in downtown Spring Valley. It is now showing Hindi movies seven days a week and doing pretty well. I’m sure there would be room for a classic series on Saturday mornings if that’s where they intend to move the classic series to. They do have a digital projector a Christie digital projector at the cultural arts Center. Along with a very good sound system Bose speakers. Comfortable seats and a big screen. So look forward to possible classic film programming there in the fall
I think the price of digital projectors has come down since the town bought the projector to loan it to the theater in 2010. But they still probably run around $40-$50,000. The longer the throw from the digital projector to the screen the more expensive a projector is because more power is needed to go for a longer throw to the screen. The size of the screen makes a difference as well

Intends to do some classics movies but not with the same frequency as in the past. The theater of course will continue to show first-run movies and explore some other programming options. The wild and scenic film festival third annual wild and scenic film festival will be taking place this Wednesday April 20. Doors open at 6:30 PM. The program 7:30 PM to 10 PM. You can go to several local restaurants calling ahead of time and get takeout food and dining in at the theater starting at 6:30 PM. Tickets $18 it advavance $20 at the door www.suffernfilmfest.com

How to train your Dragon May 21. The big short Fried mission May 29. citizen Kane June 4. They’re mixing in some more family films this year. When the kids come out they bring to parents usually and they’re more apt to buy concessions
