The last motion pictures to be shown on Main Street’s five screens Aug. 24 were Center Stage, Boys and Girls, Frequency, Small Time Crooks, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Shanghai Noon.
This theater was located in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago. For some reason it doesn’t show up on the map of the neighborhood search. The Theater was a nice place to see a movie.
One of the things I remember was, if you paid to see “beverly hills cop” you could stay and see it again. There were only 1 person selling movie tickets at the window and 1 more selling popcorn. There were no movie users.
I remember going to the Century Center back in the late 1980’s. The Theater sits on what use to be a Bally Total Fitness center. It had a 75' long swimming pool and the biggest Whirlpool. It could fit 25 people. I always thought it was cool to see a place like that on the 6th floor of a mall. Now the fitness center is all on the first floor. I’m gonna have to pay this theater a visit.
I would probably think the theater was inside either the save-a-lot or the liquor store they both have lots of parking spaces. The Bealls outlet has very little parking in front, plus it shares parking with the bank building.
There will be a new shopping center (Walmart Neighborhood Market) and a gas station (Wawa gas station/convenience store) built over the Ulmerton Cinema 9 location in 2014.
The former 28th Street Drive-In has been demolished and is now a Pinellas County, Florida school for Children with behavior problems. It is located in the city of St Petersburg, in the neiboorhood of Lealman.

I believe the property is now a middle school.

The correct address is 27365 U.S. 19, Clearwater, FL. It is now a automobile dealer. The building was not demolished. It was just remodeled a bit.
